Ventolyn & Becotyde


Ventolyn & Becotyde [1986] a.k.a. Simon Matthews is an Irish producer from Galway City, Ireland. He is a drummer originally, with a very diverse taste in music, taking solcace in anything from choral / classical to heavy electronic. He grew up around lots of music, which has ultimately led him to where he is now, deeply absorbed in producing a range of electronic styles via the means of his currently not-so impressive setup, comprised of a low spec computer & faulty sound card. None the less he max's out his setup create several styles, verging them in many cases.

Ventolyn first started his productions in the christmas of 2007 which was largely influenced by a companion of his, Jimmy The Hideous Penguin. Ventolyn's first ever output appeared to the public under the guise of 'Robbing Splitter, with several Ambient/Glitch pieces, and later that year started to produce more varied styles, changing to the name name you know now, Ventolyn & Becotyde. Ventolyn's debut release was a 22 track album titled, Audissect which was compiled in January 09 and appeared on Section 27 that summer, displaying a range of varying sounds he created from the previous year. His music cannot be refined to one specific genre description as it contains elements of Ambient, Breakcore, Orchestral, Drum & Bass, 2-Step, Electro, Techno, Minimal, Dub, Choral and more.

V&b has appeared on several netlabels since the summer of 2009; Section 27[Scotland], Pavillion 36[France], Engine Of Saturation[Italy], Ideation[Scotland], Bumpfoot[Japan]. Ventolyn's latest release is titled, Neuro Torque, which was released in October 2009 on Section 27, Ideation and Engine Of Saturation. Ventolyn is now proudly joining Stasis Records, with a track called 'Exorcore'.
